Appointments for the doctor or practice nurse can be made by telephoning the practice during opening hours on 01224 733535. You can consult with any doctor in the practice and you can ask specifically for a male or female doctor.
Each appointment slot is for a duration of 10 minutes. If you require to be seen urgently, you will be seen that day by the duty doctor or by the Nurse Practitioner.
You may be offered an appointment with our Nurse Practitioner. Linda Rae is an experienced nurse who has had further education and training to allow her to work as a Nurse Practitioner. She is able to see patients to assess, diagnose and treat common conditions. This may include a physical examination leading to further investigations, beginning a course of treatment or being referred on to other team members. Nurse practitioners are also trained to prescribe.
Our staff are trained to deal with emergencies promptly. During opening hours telephone 01224 733535 and give the information to the receptionist. The receptionist will relay the information to the duty doctor immediately and he/she will take the appropriate action.
We like to be accessible to all our patients but we also need time to spend with patients uninterrupted. If you require urgent telephone advice the receptionist will contact the duty doctor who will take the necessary action. However, if you wish to speak to your usual GP about a non-urgent matter you should contact the practice to arrange a suitable time to speak to the doctor on the telephone. All our doctors offer telephone consultation appointments. The reception staff will guide you as to how these can be used.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
